Loved your post on rookie moms- great thoughts on what it is to rediscover who we are post baby. Love the "goals"... Makes me want to come up with some of my own and get them on paper. Can't wait to read more:)

Hi Johanna,

I found your article via a post by Christine Harper on Facebook. I went to SHS as well (maiden name Kara Clemens). I read through the first few pages of your blog and particularly enjoyed your thoughts on being a working Mom. I have a 1.5 year old son and 3.5 year old daughter. I will tell you things do get better. I never stop wishing I had more time with my kids, but over time I have been able to find so many incredible poitives in our situation! It did take me awhile to get there though. And even when I had my son and went through it a second time, it took me months to accept being away from my kids for such a large chunk of the day. But like I said, it has been an incredibly positive experience for our family, and hopefully you will find the same. There are definitely rough days, but I know we would have those even if I was home all day. I also had to comment b/c I live in WI too! I live in Cedarburg, about a half hour north of Milwaukee. I absolutely adore where we live, but often find myself longing to be closer to home and my family as well. How did you guys end up in Madison? Looks like your husband is going to UW...?

Hi Kara. You're name sounds familiar, but I'm sorry to say that I can't really put a face to you.

What a coincidence that you live in WI, also! Z and I used to live in Colorado. We decided to move closer to home when my sisters started having kids, and Madison became our new home. We decided to move here because it was closer to home but no too close, and we jumped right in without visiting the town first. Madison is great, so we were lucky.
